Twilight Struggle puts the player in the middle of Cold War, the political and economic battle that raged between U.S. and the U.S.S.R which lasted for five decades between the 1950’s and the 1990’s. The game was created by award-winning game designers Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews Players control one of the two superpowers of modern times and work to establish their authority throughout the world through influence on the political scene and coups. If either side initiates nuclear war, the game’s gone!
The cards used in the game have been fashioned on real historical events of in the Cold War era. Through the play of the events in question, gamers exercise the influence of their superpower in their quest to win allies and gain control of the world. From the beginning of De-Stalinization through the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War and beyond, players are immersed into the actual events of the war between these two countries to become the leading superpower around the globe!
